Vogue Magazine September 2020
Vogue covers have been talking to us for 128 years. They talk to us about who we are and about the world we live in. This year, with our world turned upside down, we invited two contemporary artists, Kerry James Marshall and Jordan Casteel, to make paintings for our September issue covers. Marshall created a fictional character; Casteel depicts Aurora James. With both, we are looking towards the future and focusing on hope. We are stronger together. And for the first time in history, every edition of Vogue has aligned on a theme of HOPE.
